softrider! of @ email: @: Although two weeks ago I was the only one at the club who managed to stay aloft for more than about an hour. I managed 4.25 hours, and headed South. I only made it about 45 km, though. The wind was too strong, the sky was blue (no clouds to help indicate lift), there were two temperature inversion / wind shear bands to climb through (very hard to get through), and I really didn't want to possibly land in a field in the middle of nowhere. Instead, I headed West and flew over the front range of the Rockies between 12 and 13,000' ASL. That was pretty cool.
