I got lucky today....I was about 2 miles from home and this woman was driving across San Vicente at 23rd (for those of you on the West side). Fortunately she saw me but the guy behind me wasn't so lucky and she hit him. Scary! I had just crossed the intersection and I hear this guy start yelling and then BAM! He got launched over her car and landed on the other side of the street. I don't think he was too seriously hurt other than some nasty road rash. I kind of felt bad for the woman who hit him too...she was about 65 and felt horrible. I don't know how she didn't see him but she was all upset and this guy who saw it and stopped was giving her a hard time and being kind of rude. So I talked to her and calmed her down while we all waited for the ambulance to come. Then I rode home.

From British Comedian Eddie Izzard on Englebert HumperdinCk: .... "And Engelbert Humperdinck! Yes, he was the man. That's not his real name; he's from Britain, but that's not his name. There's very few Humperdincks in Britain. He was born Gerry Dorsey, not Engelbert Humperdinck. His parents were not Mr. and Mrs. Humperdinck. They never said, "What shall we call our son so he does not get the sh*t kicked out of him at school?" “We shall call him Engelbert!" "Good, that'll work!" No, his name was Gerry Dorsey, and he released songs as Gerry Dorsey, songs such as ( mumbles )which didn't work ‘cause nobody could hear what he was saying. And then his managers, obviously, said, "We're going to change your name, Gerry! It's the name that's the problem." And his name changed from Gerry Dorsey to Engelbert Humperdinck. I mean, I just wanted to be in the room when they were working that one through. "Zingelbert Bembledack! Yingybert Dambleban! Zangelbert Bingledack! Wingelbert Humptyback! Slut Bunwalla!" "What?!" "All right, Kringelbert Fishtybuns! Steviebuns Bottrittrundle..." "No, Gerry Dorsey, I like Gerry Dorsey!" "No, we can't do it... Who we got? Zingelbert Bembledack, Tringelbert Wangledack, Slut Bunwalla, Klingybun Fistelvase, Dindlebert Zindledack, Gerry Dorsey, Engelbert Humptyback, Zengelbert Bingledack, Engelbert Humperdinck, Vingelbert Wingledanck…" "No, no, go back one. Go back one. "Engelbert Humperdinck." That's it."

My post workout recovery is generally a grilled chicken boob, covered in a thick slice of cheddar, with a couple grilled pineapple rings and some ranch dressing, add a couple of longhammers and 3-4 of those suckers will put you on the couch for some football... Recovery Supplements are generally for emergencies and after Saturday long hard workouts followed by sunday long runs when you can't get nearly enough calories. I just haven't seen any that are Plain or easily digestible... What a guy doesn't need after a long workout is the trots. JD - Can you send me some of your HGH? Thanks.

Hogs are mostly fat layer under the skin so that stuff is hard to fight through. ...plus their hide is tough as nails. Least a wild hog is. 8)

Very sharp knife helps. Rabbits are easy cus you peal it like a candy bar wrapper. Squirrels are like hogs, lots of silver belly/tough skin membrane so you kind gotta just work it with a sharp sharp knife. Ive never really had a problem with em. Just time consuming cus your dealing witha small rodent and not a large animal to be able to get a grip on it. 8)

JD, serious question here: how do you skin a squirrel. I've done rabbits, no problem but the hide on the damn squirrel is really stuck on there. I've been told just slit the belly but I've kinda botched it the couple of times I tried it.

I've got a Black Walnut tree that put out thousands of driveway staining walnuts. Instead of just sweeping them up and throwing them out, I harvested them, took them out of their casing and the kernels which are what look like a walnut are curing for the next couple of weeks. Then I'll shell them and eat them or use them for baking. How green is that?
