Not that there is anything wrong with crack, mind you. I think you may be right, ray, but I think it's more exciting to think of the possibilities next year. What if LA is as good as he is hinting he is? That would make for an awesome TdF. AC will most likely be on another team. LA will undoubtedly have the strongest team in the pelaton again. AC will be the strongest rider. If he is hired by Caisse d'Epargne, he may have a team strong enough to win again. But I really have no horse in this race. I just like to see good bike riding!!

ray of @ email: @
I think yer both smokin' crack. Lance has hit his peak and has no where to go but down. He's never going to get back the top end--another year will just add to the gradual decline in his abilities. Lance can't climb like Contador or the Schlecks--at least not two days in a row.

I don't know if it's appropriate to compare Contador and Armstrong. I agree that AC put his team mates on the ropes in terms of Andreas (and even LA perhaps) from getting a podium spot. BUT at this stage in his career AC reminds me the young hot head LA when he was coming up. AC is better than LA when LA won his first grand tour; AC has won 3 already and #4 is coming on Sunday (absent a pump in the spokes!!) He is also younger than any of the other GC contenders. Right now he in his "jerk" stage and will very likely not be hired by Team Radio Shack. But his raw talent and fire in the belly are great for the sport. He may learn next year that you don't mess with LA, who has a very long memory. Speaking of LA, I think is the best overall rider in the pelaton. His riding has been superb, even discounting his age and long hiatus. I don't think even Merckx could have done what LA is doing now. Next year should be fantastic. AC had better watch out.

Lance is done. The only reason he had Contador on his team was to try and control him so maybe he gets one more win or podium. Surprise--maybe Contador is thinking about 7 wins and he's already had to take a year off. You think Lance would have worked for him if he took the yellow? No freakin' way. He would have started up with the we're a team and I'm the leader bullsh!t.

never really understood why the village fathers would want a Radio Shack right in the midst of the psuedo-cute, "we are a resort town, so you are compelled to shop", stores. Seems like Radio Shack should be in some strip mall next to a PayDay Loans..

FFO of good read on Jens V. email: @
This is from the RBR newsletter. Read the article on ESPN. Jens is THE man!! ---Jens Voigt could have died Tuesday when he hit the road head first on a Tour descent at an estimated 70-80 kph (45-50 mph). In fact, the first people to reach him feared that he had lost his life when he slid to a stop unconscious with blood streaking his face. But this 37-year-old German (one day older than Lance Armstrong) is already on the rebound. Amazingly he suffered "only" a concussion, fractured cheekbone and road rash nasty enough to need stitches. The loquacious Voigt is one of the brightest and most personable guys in the pro peloton. He's known for his attacking style and selfless sacrifice for his Saxo Bank teammates. A tribute has been written by ESPN.com's Bonnie D. Ford at http://tinyurl.com/mu223u. We are so happy it isn't an obituary. To see video of the baffling crash, click http://tinyurl.com/nnmdx8

Alberto is a "ME" guy. Dude does not play well with others and only thinks about what HE wants to do. He's good no doubt. But doesnt take orders very well as a team player. Him winning the TdF is going to be a letdown because of his crappy me me me attitude. I don't get that guy. He F'd his team today for his own satisfaction for no reason. Plus I bet he could ride the TdF without a seat. He never sits on the damn thing anyhow. His bobbing back and fourth when in a paceline reminds me of that Saturday Night Live skit "Dot" The little hyper girl that can't sit still. I was watching him this morning and his head popped around the lead guys on both sides for like 30 minutes straight. I tell you one thing I wouldnt want to draft off of him. My partner bought an Escalade so when he rear ends a smart car at the light he can just turn on his windshield wipera and keep going.

The Vimp rocks. Not only does he get up with Lucy at 5:30am but he washes the crock pot, empties the dishwasher, makes Lucy's bed, get's her dressed and puts my pram in the car.
