I possibly get it Tina. But wouldn't completely presume. Especially since my mind (which apparently doesn't have an off button) can't reconcile belief in Christ. Godness and spirituality yes, just not the only one way, black and white concept.

Identity theft sucks. After closing and reopeing three checking accounts and 2 credit cards we thought we were homefree. Then on Sunday we discovered a sleeper trojan on one of our computers called "Silent Banker" which records all keystrokes used to access online financial transactions. We think we are home free except for the regular notice of bad checks the theives are spreading throughout the area. Same routine...go to bank and notorize that yes, in fact, we did not write those checks.

In between gigs right now. The outfit I was an EMT with is not going ALS anytime soon and needed to make some cuts. Not much sense keeping a medic if you're BLS. Hooking up with another ALS unit very soon, just waiting on the licensing process. The sooner I get some expierence, the sooner the hospital will look at me for flight status! That's been the goal all along.

Grades discussions :-(. I mainly recall there were two ways to get grades in college. 1. Really try to understand the materials or 2. figure out what the teacher wanted to hear and ptich to him/her. And that the two were not neccesarily the same. Especially in subjective grading situations such as literature, political science.

of course, there are also on the job performance standards. yesterday, my preceptor told me that "I was too delicate when changing bed linens and spending too much time talking to the patient". (my immediate thought was to say to her, "Sooo, you'd rather that I be rough, dump the linens on the floor and be coarse and rude?"..but, I sucked it up Buttercup style, sweetly smiled at her and said, "thanks for the feedback" [bitc!] Because I've got my eye on the prize, and one bump in the road isn't going to stop that..

Grade discussion..my very least favorite topic. Last quarter, 8 of my classmates didn't make it through the clinical class (you have to have 80% or better to pass). That means they have to repeat the class before they can take more advanced classes. When you are talking about $1500 a credit and a 12 credit clinical class, that's alot of dough or student loans to have to repeat. The reasons why it happened to those folks varied. But, it happens in all programs and in professional or grad schools stakes are high.

Some of the very best in every profession were "C+" students. That is not a poor grade. It is at the least, average. For any given class it is only one grade given by one teacher in one class. Guys and gals who pull C's often out perform A getters once on the job.

Agreed. Isn't the whole point of seminary what you get out of it personally?

REPOST: In other news...Ray - the heat & humidity is in DC. ICK! I remember why I hate the east coast in summer! But I'm going to South Africa tomorrow night where it's WINTER! Of course, it's more like Southern CAlifornia winter so that's good for me!! Tina - sorry about your grade but I agree with Alynn that if you got a ton out of the class (which it appears you did) then don't worry about the grade!
