As well, you should have a 39 up front to go with that 25 or 27 in back.

JD, the very first thing you do in Honu out of T1 is climb a steep section. The worst time and place to load up your legs is when your blood is all in your shoulders. Plus, in that heat, your stomach will struggle to assimilate calories as 50% of the normal blood used for digestion will be shuttled elsewhere. If you are over geared with a 23 you will spike power grinding up the hill back to the Queen K. That will likely spike HR and steal muscle glycogen that is difficult to replace during a HIM. What is over geared? In a HIM where you finish in the time frame you desire you should be able to ride the flats and rollers at mod-hard (about 84-86 percent of functional threshold power or best 60min). On the extended climbs you'll want to target something close to Olympic distance efforts or threshold. If you can't climb an 8-9 percent grade in your 23 and keep it well under threshold when blood is in your shoulders I would take a 25 and maybe a 27. I used a 27 specifically for that climb.

But, the scary moment was moving her car (a 1985 Chevy Celebrity) over in the garage so I could park mine next to it. About 2 months ago, she'd told me that "a big red light" was on whenever she started the car, but she was ignoring it. I found out what that "big, red, light" was. NO BRAKES!! The brakes are out and she had been driving like that for two months...

From ESPN: Orlando matches up great against Cleveland. After Wednesday night's Game 1 comeback win, the Magic have won three of the four meetings between the two teams this season. The Magic's two regular-season wins were blowouts, while Cleveland's one victory was a white-knuckler at home. What's scary about Wednesday night's game is that it had all the marks of the three regular-season meetings. Once again, Orlando completely controlled the defensive glass, as Cleveland finished with just eight offensive boards from 36 missed shots. Again, the Cavs not named LeBron couldn't get to the line, as the supporting cast earned only seven free throws, and one of them was a technical. Again, Mickael Pietrus played a ton of minutes (30) off the bench as the primary LeBron James defender. And again, Orlando's much-maligned point guard tandem was unusually productive (16 points and 11 assists combined, against just one turnover).

E,mang, bottomline is this. You are attempting to simplify your life by pruning cable, relationships, etc. It's too drastic a pruning. It's like you sawed the oak tree in half--they don't usually survive drastic pruning. You need the concept of Kaizen--small improvements. I would say get back one of those gal pals and go to basic cable and internet. See how you do then go from there.

FFO, have you ever considered IM Brazil one year from now? It is a beautiful place/race and US dollars go farther. Check past race results and you may see opportunity as well. Lots of roll down there in the years I have gone. I'd consider that with you and the future "Twisted-Steel" (aka E-mang).

E - KP has it 'bout right. You are going to be one healthy boy! By IMC '10, you should be kicking butt and taking names throughout your AG. I look forward to seeing the new E in August!

Hubby is disappointed in you, E. You shoulda gotten the first since you don't have tv or anything to distract you.
