When I first got to the vigil, this dude (pastor or something, I don't know) was talking like "it's the policemen's fault for not doing their job, it's societies fault for 'keeping us down'" and all that crap. I was all like "cripes...here we go again with the excuses". that dude was the only one who talked that way, all the other speakers (including family, the head of MAD DADS, other pastors, etc (one who used to be an ex gang 'chief' (his title) in chicago...dude was wearing army fatigues, a dew rag and lots of bling...built like KP but black :-D Every single one of those speakers was like "what the hell are we doing to OURSELVES! This is no one's fault but ours and we need to step up and take responsibility and take action". That was REALLY good to hear :-)

Yesterday was dedicated to all my Personal and Spiritual Formation papers (all papers are basically reflecting on yourself and your faith journey) and I took a break from it only to go to a peace vigil where I listened to the drive by victims mom, dad, wife, cousin, sister, and brothers all talk about their son, husband, and brother (the victims baby was less than a year old) talk about how ridiculous the black on black violence has become. Then I found out we were standing at the location of the drive by where the 19 year old's body was found across the street from his mothers house. It was a very emotional draining day for me in both good and bad ways.

I didn't drink wine whilst doing my late night papers, like I did with my hermeneutics final paper which resulted in a C and a comment at the end stating something to the order of "This is not graduate level writing" (well, maybe not THAT direct but the message was the same). It was not one of my finer moments.

OK MAN HERE'S YER GAWD DERNED ANSWER GAWD! Pressure treated lumber only. If you want the playhouse to last more than 1 year then place it just off the ground on some cheap concrete piers you can bury up to the top or design it with some 4 by lumber in and/or in contact with the ground. Re: the pressure treatment, check yer En Zed conversion and see if yer H rating resembles the following data I pulled from my melon from memory cause I know my sheat- Pounds of preservative per cubic foot of wood= 0.25 Above Ground, 0.40 Ground Contact, 0.60 Permanent Wood Foundation, 2.50 Salt Water. I think yer H2-H3 should do it because of the nature of the structure you are planning. It's not a permanent structure like yer home but ya prolly want it to last at least until the girls discover they like boys and don't want to play in it anymore. Any wood, even pressure treated, that is in contact with the ground will aborb water fast, shrink and swell, and attract bugs. Higher treatment or just a coupla inches off the ground will significantly change the scenario. YER WELCOME!

4 of these papers were 'interactive' reviews of four different old testament books. Since I was so crunched for time and had two longer papers to complete by Monday, I kinda went with the attitude that I was going to write what was REALLY on my mind (questions, observations, comments) rather than what I thought the prof wanted to hear. I will either be donned bold and brilliant or kicked out of seminary - at this point, I'm not really sure which...

vimpy, let me tell you about one way to classify wood. Last night, I watched the HBO fight. Manny Pacquiao putt Ricky Hatton down twice in the first round. At 2:59 in the second of a scheduled twelve rounds of their 140-pound title fight, argueably the worlds best fighter, Pac-Man, hit Hatton so hard his head had to be stabilized in the ring for safety considerations and he was sent to the hospital. Pacquiao's left hook would be classified as a "2 by 4". BOOM!!!

My question is thus: when I build a playhouse for Lucy and Hope, my intentions are to build the floor frame out of 2x4 (100x150) H4 and have that sitting directly on grass (4" side lying flat) and then putting treated ply on top. Do you think that will be OK or should I use some H4 4x4 posts for framing the floor?

I think tina should read Lamb, by the same author: Joshua (a.k.a. Jesus) knows he is unique and quite alone in his calling, but what exactly does his Father want of him? Taking liberties with ancient history, Moore works up an adventure tale as Biff and Joshua seek out the three wise men so that Joshua can better understand what he is supposed to do as Messiah. Biff, a capable sinner, tags along and gives Joshua ample opportunities to know the failings and weaknesses of being truly human. With a wit similar to Douglas Adams, Moore pulls no punches: a young Biff has the hots for Joshua's mom, Mary, which doesn't amuse Josh much: "Don't let anyone ever tell you that the Prince of Peace never struck anyone." And the origin of the Easter Bunny is explained as a drunken Jesus gushes his affection for bunnies, declaring, "Henceforth and from now on, I decree that whenever something bad happens to me, there shall be bunnies around."

Frm the Amazon.com description of Fluke: In his entertaining adventure-in-whale-researching, Fluke, or, I Know Why the Winged Whale Sings, Nathan Quinn, a prominent marine biologist, has been conducting studies in Hawaii for years trying to unravel the secret of why humpback whales sing. During a typical day of data gathering, Nate believes his mind is failing: the subject whale has "Bite Me" scrawled across its tail.

He woke up at home at 3:45am from a sleep with his wife and was having trouble breathing. He was dead before help got there. As a health nut and ex-pro basball player it was pretty shocking to those who knew him. Apparently there was some indication for concern earlier that evening at his show when he told the crew he would not be doing curtain calls as he didn't 'feel right'. As well, his wife said he was fidgety and uneasy at home that evening.

All I can say is whoever wrote that can suck my D$ck! I be damned if they think im more at risk than sitting on the god damn couch smoking 4 packs a day. F that BS! F'n out of shape sky is falling sour grapes mofo. F'n doctors are the worst about caring for themselves anyhow. I took Elizabeth to one today. Biach had saddle bags the size of Texas and got outa breath lifting a GD finger. Sick. And I'm the one at risk? come on. That kinda crap pushes my buttons. Go spend your time researching something worth while like looking for the cure for MS for christ's sake! 8)
