The only time I could see Trues using Facebook is if they had some 'Monsterwattmeter' application that Trues could hook up his SRM to remotely. Then yer could sit online and look at his work and his 2000W peaks and wonder if it's not too late to take up ten pin bowling.

Before I went to the Toyota dealership, we drove a Honda CRV. During the test drive, I floored it up the entrance ramp to the highway. Hubby says, "Yeah. It drives like a 4-cylinder. So, do you have a V6 we can drive?" Car dude is like, "Uh... It doesn't come in a V6." I said, "Yeah - that's Toyota that has the V6." Car dude knew he was fukced. It was all I could do not to bust out laughing. They kept throwing $$ at me to get me, trying to keep me in the Honda dealership. They knew as soon as I drove the Toyota, they were done. They were right - the Toyota is a much nice car and they gave me $2700 MORE for my trade, so the bottom line was less as well.

What say the other Cali-forn-ians (or former) here on the page? Criteria is somewhere we can drive to easily (so we can take the dogs - we don't want to board them) and within a half day or so. As you may or may not know, for the past year I've had to work with a total dipsh!t. I could go into all the reason he's a dipsh!t but it's frankly fairly boring. The nice part was that I didn't have to point out he was a dipsh!t. I just stood back and let him step on his own dick. Well, it finally caught up to him. Today was his last day. I've been smiling all afternoon. Karma is a b!tch. :-D

I prolly wouldn't go for anything beyond 5 nights without one, especially out here, just because you won't have any "reliable" weather forecasts beyond that. When we did the JMT we really didn't need a tent until the 12th night (our last night, at Guitar Lake) because we had beautiful warm weather the whole trip. That night it rained and as we headed up to Whitney it snowed.

Well, there's a huge range in $$ of course. I'd try to follow this order of priority in deciding: 1)#weight I'm willing to carry 2)how much am I willing to spend, 2)seasonal use (e.g, only summer, or, winter & summer, etc), 3)for just me? 4)brand (e.g., it seems like almost everything Black Diamond makes is made in China, 5)material - how sturdy does it need to be, e.g., what kind of terrain/weather will you be backpacking through or are you going to drive into a campsite and throw it on the "clean" ground. Those are my initial thoughts.

I think ol' Scrote would have enjoyed this one. - - - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE APRIL 24, 2009 Landis, Sutherland, Kilun to race Worthington-sponsored Dana Point Grand Prix Sunday. Oakland, CA – Floyd Landis, Rory Sutherland and Roman Kilun of OUCH Presented by Maxxis will take the start of the Dana Point Grand Prix Sunday. The title sponsor of the race is OUCH Presented by Maxxis team sponsor Roger Worthington, P.C. A festival atmosphere will surround the 0.8-mile, L-shaped course near Dana Point Harbor. “It’s more than a bike race,” said Worthington, an asbestos cancer lawyer. “It’s a party, complete with rock bands, jazz bands, a Karl Strauss beer garden, an exciting series of wham-bam kids races, a fan zone, an In-n-Out Burger kiosk, and a whole bunch of bike races, from the crack of dawn to dusk.” Worthington will be working the microphone from the main stage, and will be joined by various celebrities throughout the day, including Brian Lopes, Steve Hegg and skate boarder Ryan Sheckler, as well as Mayor pro-tem Steven Weinberg. “Dana Point is a fun event,” Sutherland said of the NRC race. “We think it’s important to support sponsors like Roger Worthington who support bike racing, and to also support the Southern California racing scene. “As none of us are really pure sprinters, I’m not sure of our chances in the race,” Sutherland added. “But we intend to put in a strong effort, and I know we’ll have a good time.” The men’s pro race is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m., with the start/finish line across from Heritage Park.
