seriously though, I haven't watched a ball game for 3-4 years since the Barry Bonds lie and cover up BALCO revelation. But, today I am watching the World Baseball Classic! Good fundamentals, not overplayed by maximized roid freaks, good pace, balanced fan expectations....baseball as it should be. I wont watch MLB until it feels like that again

I'm growing up slowely but is this one of those moments? jus thought that if the entire world is cheating at almost everything they do in order to get ahead of their competition and win and feel better aboot themselves, then isn't the real root that people compete as animals do to stay alive and reproduce but that the tools of survival have become very specialized and don't even take the form of basic needs or actions anymore. We are so specialized that merely being seen as a better sailor or better home run hitter ensures survival and gene reproduction. AND, when it comes time that each and every person is doing this chase for specialization and bending every rule or strategy they can isn't it better than to be contrarion and do the opposite? If everyone is doing something then the bext place is usually to be not doing something. So if everyone is striving to be better than everyone else wouldn't it be better for me to jus be me and not worry aboot all that and not buy into all that and jus concentrate on the basic reasons to do anything and be happy, thus having an immediate advantage over all the yokers running around chasing things they are not? So, though I know he no doubt has his faults, the best thing to do is jus be self productive, self reflective, happy and centered kinda like KP, eh? I gets it!

Laura! Mother Earth News ROCKS. I'm just now organizing (on paper) the vegetable and berry gardens for the summer: six types of tomato plants, acorn squash, red beets, broccoli, celery, two kinds of corn, pumpkin, basil, chives, cilantro, dill, red potatoes, green beans, carrots, japanese cucumber, romaine, red leaf, spectrum greens, scallions, spinach, garlic, onion, paprika peppers, green and red bell peppers, leek, zucchini; plus, watermelon, cantaloupe, raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, four sunflower types, lavendar, and two types of poppy. And, might even get a couple bee hives to try that out!

The manager of a megastore came to check on his new salesman. "How many customers did you serve today?" the manager asked. "One," replied the new guy. "Only one?" said the boss. "How much was the sale?" The salesman answered, "$72,316." Flabbergasted, the manager asked him to explain. "First I sold a man a fishhook," the salesman said. "Then I sold him a rod and a reel. Then I asked where he was planning to fish, and he said down by the coast. So I suggested he'd need a boat - he bought that 20-foot runabout. When he said his Volkswagen might not be able to pull it, I took him to the automotive department and sold him a big SUV." The amazed boss asked, "You sold all that to a guy who came in for a fishhook?" "No," the new salesman replied. "He actually came in for a bottle of aspirin for his wife's migraine. I told him, "Your weekend's shot. You should probably go fishing." Train Safe!

KP! Thanks for mentioning the Evan Bayh editorial. I just linked it to my FB page to spread the word. I am still waiting for Congress to step up and start acting like they care about the country as a whole and not just what's good for their reelection campaigns...

Cobain, Jopplin, Hendrix, Morrison all died at 27. Can you imagine being one of the most sort after muscians at that age?

Port Angeles, a larger version of Aberdeen. Birthplace of Kurt Cobain. Lumber, Blue Collar, Port Town in the "sun belt" of the Straight of San Juan De Fuca. But Victoria BC is right across the water which is cool.

On the plus side...the new Health Care records system we worked to design today may save King County 4+ million in health care costs in the next three years (if it goes as planned) The stimulus will be matched by county contributions to pay for it.
