E, muscle knots don't last that long. Could be a hematoma, or a deep venous thrombosis in which case we'll call you N8 Jr and introduce you to Warfarin. Find out before you get chest pain and shortness of breath.

could be a tight knot from all the ski boot time lately. Just started to worry aboot it a bit today. Will monitor it and check for easing. If not then my doc may have an idea. Too young and healthy for clots and blood thinners and stuff like that. Prolly a water or vitamin issue....Magnesium?

E - I've had a blood clot in my shoulder before - somein about being to huge and muscly or somein. But anyways, my symptons were slight redness, distal swelling (my veins were pumped up) and heaviness in my arm. Just think of a hard session without the prosthetic arm!

Hey Laura! For some reason, I was never interested in the 'investing' aspect of finance. Of all the directions I could go with finance, my true passion (and it really is a passion), is evaluating business (basically exactly what I was doing as an examiner) OR creating a viable business out of nothing (like my non-profit experience) and having to show how it CAN be financially feasible over time. (I learned of my passion for this whilst defending my non-profit's business plan to the grant foundation.

see that's the thing with Darwiniasm, when you do something "stupid" or different you just don't know which pointy end of the spectrum yer on. Maybe yer the first of a new species makin' yer move toward future domination. Maybe yer the tail pointy end and are about to become extinct. Self-selection works both ways. Now that I am still alive I'd like to think I'm stronger, smarter, wiser and have gained an advantage over all the safe non-pointy end members of my species.

The initial traverses across the face were hair raising. About 2/3rds of the way down the couloir the 3 foot powder turned to corn snow and I carved all the way back to the highway. Was within acceptable risk but still enough to get serious and get the adrenaline goin'. The worst part rita- I was all alone.....bad I know. I know better but mang sometimes ya gotta jus check the skirt at the door and take the big testies fer a walk. All good now so don't send backcounrty patrol up there ta find my carcass. ;)

Laura, you don't have to reduce the number of days you eat beef and chicken. Just get one of those huge freezers and buy a whole cow already butchered. It will last until the recession is over. For chickens, but a bunch of those Easter baby chicks, feed em and in a few weeks, PRESTO!! Ready for the slaughter. Freeze them in the same huge freezer. Yer good through a nuclear attack.

Laura - for the past 2-3 months, I've been completely fruit, veggies (mostly veggies), and grains, beans and fish - everything but the beans and fruit are typically doused in olive oil - YUM. Oh, and coffee ...not doused in olive oil:-D My downfall is diet soda and splenda in my coffee. I buy the biggest packs of frozen veggies I can find and totally stock the freezer - SO easy to cook up AND you don't have to worry about spoilage :) YAY YOU!

Suppose this is somewhat hippy-dippy, ;-) but given the economy, the high cost of groceries, wanting to loose some weight, concerns with controlling b/p and cholesterol, etc. we have started reducing the days that we eat meat and poultry. Not saying we are going veggie completely, (that will never happen!) but we are trying for 3-4 veggie days a week. We have found by doing that, we have reduced our weekly grocery bill from about $145 a week down to $80ish and we do not lack for variety or tasty treats. Got the Dr. Dean Ornish book and a book called World Vegetarian, anyhoo.

Hi Swoosh! Indoors for the lettuce and tomatoes is a good idea, might have to figure that one out. We did alot of patio tomatoes, basil, rosemary, thyme in containers last year, but it would be nice to get a jump on the lettuce now. Re the tiller, we'll go over to the local Ace. Gardening is fun stuff!

Laura, why don't you consider making some space indoors for growing lettuce and tomatoes? it can be done quite easily!

Course, that assumes we are going to get Spring here: dang cold again today, too cold to ride outdoors, questionable for running/walking. Ugh!

Swoosh cracks me up! If you do dig a root cellar, I want to see pictures! I think that's great. We were discussing our own garden plans for this year. Last year was our first attempt and we grew enough lettuce and tomatoes such that we didn't have to buy them from the store from July-October, so this year, we are aiming for bigger and better. Going to rent a tiller..whooo..

I had an email waiting for me this morning saying that my hermeneutics quiz grade is available online...I've been sitting with this fact for about 10 minutes now. I think I might be ready to look at it now...ugh.

And it's not because I'm old, it's because I've never been a night person. Yeah...that's it... *shifting eyes* :-D
