I'm just catching up on the page, and this came to mind in response to a post a few days ago... People who snub their noses at those who work hard, enjoy the fruits of their labour, live within their means, try to make enviromentally wise choices, and are generally aware of lowering their impact on the planet, may or may not be people who live in "secluded" gated communities - are often accused by "checking-out, hippies or socially inept and/or wanting to be 'isolationists'".

We are among (if not the) highest taxed state in the country and the state is now trying to pass another $16 billion in taxes. I have to pay a tax on my income tax! And yes, if we stopped supporting illegal aliens, we'd be a lot better off and wouldn't have to add more taxes to what we already pay....not that I have an opinion or anything. ;-)

Kitty rodeo was harmless. My daughter actually invented it. She would wrap the kitty's feet with a ribbon and put her in a shoebox with one of the sides cut free so it could open like a rodeo stall. Then she'd open the chute and kitty would come out bucking until her feet came free from the ribbon. She would keep coming back to have it done again.

So now salaries are reduced to $500,000 and bonuses to 1/3 of that if they receive taxpayer funding. And this is a hardship. Banks are all worried they'll lose what they consider their top management. Two points 1) where are they going to go, and 2) can't imagine why you'd want to keep them given the mess they have created. Might be time for some new up and coming thinkers. Maybe put Tina in charge. :-)

I mean, it's actually REALLY REALLY cool because you get ALLLLLLLLLLL the banks financial info, investments, loans, earnings info, lending and investment policies (LOVE reading those!!) and you just dive into all this info and you make a 'story' out of it...where were they, where are they now and why, and where are they going and can they actually get there...UGH!!! I'm all tingly inside just thinking about it!! :-D

Actually, Helena, the Mpls Fed branch bank out in Montana (our district is the biggest land-mass district, so we have examiners based out on our 'west' end), has a couple of examiner positions open out there. I'd probably TOTALLY be there if I wasn't in Seminary right now.

:-D It's just SO intriguing and very exciting right now!!! Having done it for 6 years in the 90's, I'm sitting here thinking "I wonder what 'this' looks like, can't the gov't look at 'this' (in saying that the gov't may not even know the extent of the toxic loan problems), I could look into their investment portfolios and see what they are/have been invested in (SO curious!!), talk to the bankers about their plans for their specific banks...EEEKS!!! SO EXCITING!!! :)
