Not all business *must* have layoffs and shutdowns. The ones that are business-smart during the boom times can, when times get tough, take advantage of those that weren't.... :)

Swim meets are the worst. I dutifully took all three daughters to swim meets for years. It was an all day affair with each daughter swimming in 3 or 4 events, usually something like #3, #10, #52, #78, #110 of 120 events total in all age groups. I feel your pain.

I dunno man--this statement is sorta disturbing. "it's two oclock here and Jan's out of town" Number one--it's NEVER too early for a beer. Everything goes better with beer. Breakfast, work, personal relationships, car maintenance---so, always drink beer. Number two--Jan's being out of town should have NO bearing on this important matter. Jan's a smart lady--she UNDERSTANDS the importance of beer in the human diet. She encourages it. Trust me.

What is Alice doing? Go to Twitter Dee and Twitter Dum to find out. No Jabberwork there, perhaps a Mad Hatter and Dormouse, Queen of Hearts and March Hare. May even find a White Knight. All while Twitters's accountants smile like the Chesire Cat.

You guys in Chicago may be freezing your tushes off, but look how lucky you are! Your going to be home to Campy USA. That's almost reason enough to forsake god's county. Almost. ---Colnago has jettisoned its U.S. distributor, Veltec Sports, and is launching its own subsidiary called Colnago America, Inc. According to sales manager Alex Colnago, this will be the first time the elite Italian framebuilder has had "full control over distribution, sales and marketing in North America. Now we will be able to offer more competitive prices, improved delivery and better service to our retailers and Colnago riders." The new facility will be in Chicago and a new website, http://www.colnagoamerica.com, is due online this week.
