swoosh! of starlite email: @: manny wins! that picture was taken just before we got up to the 'notch' - not sure what elevation that's at exactly. upper end of 13 maybe. the helmet is mainly to protect the noggin' from falling rocks, although I did short-rope the notch and one of the lower sections because I didn't have a lot of confidence in my climbing skills.

However, I'm assuming the torque required to turn a gear would remain the same no matter what size crank you would use, however only the force required would differ? If so, what is the arm length that impacts the force required? I guess what I'm trying to say is if I where to take a gear ratio and increase the chainring and sprocket by the same proportion, would the amout of force required reduce or remain the same (i.e. is the crank the only factor that can change the force required for a given gear)? Or should I just get back on the crack?

I believe they have a practice in Rockford. That is Nanette's company, and I can probably get good detailed information if you need it. They are the best (and largest) neonatal/perinatal physician group in the country. It is amazing how much I've learned about high risk pregnancy/deliveries over the past 6.5 years :-)

She actually told me the story a few weeks ago but at that time I didn't register any of the terms. I just remember feeling bad because the father was left widowed with three children. I talked to her Saturday and she mentioned that it can be a serious problem and to be careful what medicine she takes. I guess they gave this woman some type of drug that thined her blood too much and something happen during the c-section.

They said they want to get her to at least 36 weeks so the baby won't need as much care. They are taken it day by day and hopefully week by week.
