When I was buying one of my espresso machines for the biz, this dude was trying to tell me how great these machines were that used 'pods'. Pods are pre measured espresso in a little net/cloth thing that you just pop into the espresso machine and it is supposed to pull the perfect 'pre measured' shot and no mess....ok, yea...perfectly pre-measure shot, but....THE ALREADY GROUND COFFEE HAS BEEN SITTING AROUND ON SOME SHELF FOR HOW LONG ALREADY DUDE?!?!?!? blech! barf. hurl.

Tina, we are on quarters. So, we start Dec 1, then we get a break from Dec 20-Jan 5th, then we have 6 more weeks and quarter ends. I've got two more quarters of full time, then, hopefully, will land a nurse intern job and finish up the degree with only one or two classes per quarter over the next year. Which is good, because I really need to make some money again.

E Grunge of email: @
E was a little hippy kid living in Santa Cruz with his divorced hippy mother. Between being subjected to shocking visions at the nude beach and meeting colorful natives living in the Cruz at the time, E got to hang out with some old dude musicians cause his mom was dating a dude from Jamaica, via Louisiana, by the name of Preston. Preston could play virtually any instrument it seemed jus by picking it up. E liked all the colorful people he met but was not impressed by the lifestyle and had much angst and bottled up energy to expend. So, E found surfing at an early age and unleashed his energy into the ocean and tried to not go the way of the longhaired men. As E and his friends got older, they needed fundage to get around the coast and to go visit girls over the hill in Los Gatos. So E met a nice dude named Mr. Hickman, who was in the Army with Clint Eastwood and made a training film with Clint for the Army back in the day before Clint was a movie star. Mr. Hickman would later become E’s high school history teacher. But at the time, Hickman had a side business of buying some of the older Victorian homes found in Santa Cruz at the time and restoring them to sell them to the growing wave of yuppies slowly starting to make the move to Santa Cruz with their Silicon Valley money. E and his buds would dig, hammer, saw and demo old homes for Hickman for dinero. In order to not be kicked out of school, keep his job, and still surf lots E wore really long baggy shorts, brown construction boots, t-shirt with some band name on it and a flannel shirt cause Santa Cruz fog was cold. The hippies didn’t understand this garb cause it looked awkward to wear construction boots with shorts and a long sleeve flannel or down jacket at the same time. The surfers didn’t understand it cause they were all wearin bun tight OP chord shorts at the time. So E and a lot of E’s friends started to wear this garb cause at the time there were only two options for kids our age- stay in SC and become a surfing carpenter or get out and go to college. Also, E did no cut his hair cause why spend money on something like that when ya needed wax, new boards, doobage, and needed to buy chicks stuff. Besides, only the dorks cut their hai and then they didn't get laid. As the yuppies moved in and took over the Cruz, housing prices went through the roof and the poor hippy people started to get pushed out of Santa Cruz. The street people who made up the music scene and played at hippy eateries like The Catalyst also started to get hassled as the city was slowly being gentrified and cleaned up. Many went to warmer climates like Santa Barbara or north San Diego County- Leucadia and Encinitas. Some started a Seattle migration. E went south to San Diego to surf and go to college. E still wore his boots/shorts/flannel/down combo even though the weather was much warmer. E hung with some north county chicks like one named Diane who dated a guitarist from a band later to be called Pearl Jam. E was an angry dude and hung with angry surfer types and liked brooding angry music like the kind later published by Eddie Vedar. Then along came the Van Halen break up thang and David Lee Roth’s attempted comeback. Roth spent some time with southern cali musicians and then moved on to Seattle brining with him some talented angry young musicians who by then heard about the cheap living and fledgling music scene in the big urban city up north described by many as a really big Santa Cruz. Many of the bands that rose to fame in Seattle wore the garb of construction worker surfers but with a heavy influence of punk to show the angst and attitude. The unique garb and inner bottled up angst and surfer mentality combined to demand a certain type of loud raucous music be played at the music venues in Seattle. The music developed, a couple of hit songs introduced the movement to the nation, every pot smoking surf kid from Huntington to Martha’s Vineyard wanted in on the action, and Grunge was born. So as you can plainly see, it has been mathematically proven that E invented Grunge. The end.

King harvest...Dancin in the Moonlight........"Everybody here is outta sight..." level 9. My second favorite 70's classic retro tune, after "Brandy (You're A Fine Girl)" recorded by Looking Glass- There's a port on a western bay And it serves a hundred ships a day Lonely sailors pass the time away And talk about their homes And there's a girl, in this harbor town And she works, laying whiskey down They say "Brandy, fetch another round" She serves them whiskey and wine The sailors say "Brandy, you're a fine girl What a good wife you would be Yeah your eyes could steal a sailor From the sea."
