Stupidest workout? Two: first, got talked into doing a spin-a-thon for charity down in Chicago a few years ago..12 hours on a spin bike, seriously with only two bio breaks. Other stupidest workout was a 20 mile run with 3 buddies in prep for Boston '96. Windchill was minus 15 and it was snowing. Our eyelashes froze.

Stupidest workout: 20 mile treadmill run in prep for IM AZ. Started at 10pm at the gym because I wanted to wait until the kids were asleep. Finished sometime after 2am. This workout contributed to my decision to retire from IM.

Not exactly off topic, but a little skewed: Local bicyclist (owns bike shop) did a TT in Chippewa Falls WI. It was a foggy, damp morning, and riders were sent off every 1 minute. Well he's hammering in the fog as fast as he can, and then he senses some odd noises and activity. He looked up, and slammed on his brakes. He had gone off course, and ridden inside of a building on a golf course where they kept golf carts. Can you imagine watching this? Some idiot on a bike going like a bat out of he77, up a road and into the golf building? And yes, this is a true story.

The Spam museum and gift shop in Austin sells a cookbook and other stuff, including Spam scrubs (I've been there). On the radio show, Bob Serat of WBBM was reading some of the recipes, including Spamsicles and Spam cake. He was getting fairly freaked out. Guess they don't make alot of Spam down on the Gold Coast of Chicago..

Laura of @ email: @
It was sort of interesting how Spam is made. Pork shoulder, ham, salt, water and sodium nitrate (to give it the pink color) are ground up into a slurry..you know, a pink mud. That slurry is piped into the Spam cans raw, then the cans are baked in giant ovens. Then it leaves beautiful, downtown Austin to spam the globe..

Then on the other it is a larger skin flap but a little jigglier and it looks like it's filled with marshmellow fluff. Perhaps I should remain silent while people continue to take jabs at Sarah Palin, but it kind of bothers me that people continue to torment her. She lost. She's not going to be the Vice President. Is that not enough to satsify you? Is there anything else you believe you're entitled to as retribution for her daring to run for Vice President? Do you believe that she owes you any further apology than she's given? Or are you just of the general feeling that she deserves more humiliation, and you're going to see to it that she gets it?

The appointment of Obama won the US a lot of positive mojo in the international community. I've never seen people here so intriged by a US election and excited about the appointment of a president.

I like the features and could use it a lot but am not yet decided that I want to be hooked up and reachable 24/7 yet...I'm kinda a flake when I need my space and having a Blackberry would not help in those instances. I like it when the cell has "no coverage"

How can you expect people not to feel like winners or losers if you yourself think others are winners?

Hey, tina... The first ~T~ was capitalized. You always spell your name with a lowercase ~t~, so I changed it address you, hopefully, as you prefer.
