noel of email: @: Went to lift weights at Bally's today, and thought I'd do a real slow 1 mile to warm up for workout. I'm going about 9:20 pace, when I see (and hear) Mr. Mohawk with long pointy chin beard behind me about 1/2 lap. Then about 1/4 lap. Then about 1/8 lap, Damn, that dude's gonna pass me! So I picked it up for a few laps, and realized this dude is still right behind me. Then he does a sprint to pass me at the line, but I wouldn't let him. He stopped, and I kept going, wasn't planning to run at all, and ended up doing 2 miles. My ego wouldn't let him pass me, what's wrong with me?????????

Richter is just a loooong, sloooow climb for me. Same with the prelude into the final climb at Yellow Lake. I'm just not strong enough to do it well. Hence my attempts to increase wattage and especially endurnace this winter.

I felt quite a bit of stress trying to maintain that steady wattage, and power was already dropping by about 1:15. By 1:30 I almost got off the bike. At 1:45 I was only able to push for about 90 seconds (155 watts) at a time before coasting for a few seconds. An all-out burst at 1:55 got me ~just~ back to 165 watts. Good Lord. That's a long way from the 210 watt average at CdA in '07. Frig mang.
