I think a more appropriate analogy is a "salad bowl". Ingredients that go in still retain most of their individual properties, but also pick up flavors from the things around it.

However, most data systems cannot distinguish people of more than one race and/or ethnicity. We are seeing huge increases (100% - 200%) in number of people who are simply reporting multi-racial -- without ability to create specific distinction. I predict by the 2020 race will no longer be a meaningful demographic. Not only does phenomena break down stereotypes, but it also breaks down cultural silos (i.e. Black culture, asian culture, hispanic culture) Its amazing how many mixed race couples you see these days once you become aware of it. And they are having children :-)and their children are having children. Obamas story isn't as unique as we may believe.

I am hopeful that the reducting on the price of oil will actually translate into a reduction in the cost of staple goods very soon, which should actually stabilize the economy.

By sundown the temp will be back to below freezing and it will die a slow death by heat loss suffocation. Heat, fuel, and air. Take one away and you have no fire. It actually amazes me thhat a fire could start at all with a foot of snow on the ground and mid-30's temps. Makes me wonder why absolutely everything doesn't burn in the summer when its like 80-100.
