I am conducting a Presidential Poll: who would you vote for President from the TV series listed here: (1) HUNTER -- Sgt Rick Hunter starring Fred Dryer (1984 to 1991) was a wily, physically imposing, and often rule-breaking homicide detective (badge# 089) with the Los Angeles Police Department. (2) BANACEK -- ('72 to '74) starring George Peppard as a suave, debonair, freelance insurance investigator, who only takes on the impossible cases and at twice the normal recovery fee. Insurances companies only hire him when nobody else can solve the case. (3) McGYVER – ('85 to '92) staring Richard Dean Anderson as the laid-back, extremely resourceful secret agent MacGyver. He could take a Victoria’s Secret undies catalogue and a tooth pick and make mapquest. (4) SPENCER FOR HIRE -- ('85 to '88) starring Robert Urich as Spenser, a surprisingly sophisticated private eye and former boxer. He was well-read, often quoting poetry in everyday conversation. He was also an excellent cook, often cooking recipes as he watched Julia Child on his kitchen counter television and drove an ivy green '66 Ford Mustang. Thank you in advance for your vote!

Unlike the magic numbers 2-126, which are realized in spherical nuclei, theoretical calculations predict that nuclei in the island of stability are deformed. Before this was realized, higher magic numbers, such as 184, were predicted based on simple calculations that assumed spherical shapes. It is now believed that the sequence of spherical magic numbers cannot be extended in this way.

Is Paisley a product of fractile geometry or does it mysteriously predate the fractile geometry era and was put on the planet for humans to put on shirts and ties as a hint that if you invent huge and fast computers you can plot neat looking repetitive patterns and shapes? ...mysterious.....

Winter riding..did IMNZ '03. Ride a 'cross bike (better traction and more forgiving geometry). Lake fleece lined cycling boots, ride into the wind starting out, wind on back on way home. In harsh conditions: 3-4 hour Computrainer is no big thing. Michael McCormack sessions on the bike worked for me. But, xc training gives a huge base of endurance, work the trainer to keep the cycling legs. FWIW.

tina of @ email: @
OH! IMPORTANT! Use your crap bike when biking outside and keep your nice tri bike on the trainer. You will need to wash off your bike after every winter ride though...especially the gearing stuff....salt and other road crap gets in there.

if the layers and all yer other suggestions work and I can get some degree of comfort, the roads are fairly good for about 18 miles north before the ice pretty much becomes permanent. Hydration. I had a water pack that went under a layer or two (to keep it from freezing) and then if my bottles froze (they did a number of times), I would swing into a gas station/convenience store and use their microwave to thaw it out. Also, would always treat myself to a hot gas station cappucino...WARM LIQUID SUGAR! YUM! :)

As far as riding on ice and snow, not sure what it's like in Idaho, but I learned MNDOT takes FABULOUS care of the roads in winter. Snow isn't really slippery and neither is the bit of ice I would find on the road because it was sorta 'not smooth' and choppy stuff. I never stopped a ride because of bad road conditions...con't

E, layers, buddy. Below the waist briefs with windscreen material (make sure to orient them with the windscreen material in the front because your johnson will never forgive you for the frostbite), then long bibs and if it's really cold, goretex pants on top. Smartwool heavy socks and Lake winter boots. On top, base layer, polypropylene or similar, winter longsleeved jersey, vest, then goretex shell. Balaclava to match the weather, thin for not so cold, thick for freezing. Am-Fib gloves for not so cold, Lobster gloves for fcking freezing. Ride yer ass off, yer welcome.

If you can, wear like hiking boots - then on the really cold days, toss in the hand/feet warmer things (grabber my coals...ya get them at REI or stores like that) and put one in each mitten and each shoe. They need oxygen to work though, so make sure there is wiggle room in your shoes (i learned this the hard way...the VERY hard way...owie). (con't)

OK...seriously. I can e ya more details, but basically I had 4-5 layers on my head, FLIP MITTENS, layer the bod really well and top it off with a REALLY nice (i.e. expensive) wind/rain jacket. Do not wear biking shoes because there is no oxygen in them (ie. they fit tight especially with socks) so your feet freeze up right away no matter what you do.....(con't)

Or at least dressed like a hodad. Although my pants aren't plasticky. Aero's finally 'fessin' up to the Depends.

OK, so it has nothing to do with my suck ass swim ability, I just want to swim with hot co-eds.

since I swim like sheet, I probably should take some swim lessons before the surf lessons.

Hey Joe--excellent line of thought. If, by 'house', you mean a shack like mine, you could probably buy it with the allowance your parents used to give you. A REAL house with floors is a little steep, but down about 30% from last year. Google it and buy it, I say.

So with this housing crisis, did it affect God's country. I'm wondering if I could finally afford to buy a starter house in Goleta.

The slacks are a tad plasticky. Not real proud of that...

How bout you Tina? You wearing a tie, or do you fall into the 'not a hodad' column?

Aero of Goleta email: @
No tie. Ties are for hodads.

The main reason I come to this page is because the page peeps crack me up. It's definitely not for triathlon advice.
