Charting and graffing light through an optical path is about as much fun as sucking on a hot poker. Especially when the optical path is in existence and has resident optical degredation due to an existing protocall given by an optical company that is seemingly incorrect. 8)

Last night, I was looking through childhood memorabilia (jr. high and high school yearbooks, old photos, etc.) because the box it was in fell out of the rafters when I was pulling down the Halloween decorations. It brought the late 70's and early 80's back in a huge way. Frankly, it was stressful. It's still kind of stressing me out as I sit here right now. ;-)

Alynn - good to hear you're still in! I think we'll all be running slower than we'd like so not to worry! Congrats Noel! I did the LA Marathon one year in the pouring rain. It was literally pouring from before the start until I turned the last corner about .2 from the finish. Then the rain stopped. We even had lightning at mile 15 or so. I think Sharon ran that year as well. It was quite the experience!

The owner's daughter was living there but just moved so it's been totally upgraded and is much nicer....with an air conditioner and a dishwasher!!! :-) I have already spoken to the owner so now I just have to wait until tomorrow morning until the building manager gets in and calls me back. Of course, now I'm all excited and can't wait...and hoping the property manager doesn't find a reason I can't move. The owners's all in favor on accounta I'm a great tenant who is quiet and always pays my rent on time. :-)

Semolina flour and corn meal will give a crust the "Chicago" deep dish touch. Usually have to let it rise for 1-2 hours, then punch it down, rise again. Thin crust goes quicker. Speaking of which, got to get some food!

It's pretty easy: 2-3 c. of flour, 1 c. of wheat germ, pkg of rapid rising yeast, mixed in a Pyrex cup of warm tap water, 1/2 olive oil and a pinch of salt. Use a Kitchen Aid mixer with dough hook. But, there are easy dough recipes at Epicurious.com It's much more fun, I think to make one from scratch than open a frozen one.

Almost ate gravel! So I'm all pissed for a minute or so and then start to friggen laugh, hard. Member the posts from last week aboot LA and Phats and Boop sayin there are areas that are jus not safe to ride? Well here I am in the middle of nowhere, not a person in sight, snow on the high peaks above, dirt single track through miles and miles of aspen turned yellow and I manage to find a situation that somehow makes me mad and upset...WTF! Race Report 08 Twin Cities Marathon. The path around Lake Harriet was a river. Not exaggerating, it was a RIVER. About 2 miles of steeple chase, then finally back to dry land. Saw someone building an Ark. Finished about 1 hour off PR, but happy with time. Actually, by mile 8 or 9 it was a near perfect day (too bad socks and clothes were soaked).

Mark, I do beleieve that was the 'Arena' episode. Gorn inspired countless nightmares and remains one of the more memorable aliens to be seen in Trek. Everyone remembers the first time they saw the Gorn captain battle Kirk. However, there's a lot more to 'Arena' than meets the eye. Like several early episodes, this one embodies the spirit of Star Trek: a strange encounter with an unknown species, a bit of fighting, and, ultimately, a lesson that fighting is not something that rational, evolved beings should be getting up to. Seems simple enough, but how many times do we have to be shown this lesson! One of the great, timeless lessons that still resonates today more than ever.

If you haven't done it before, be prepared, this is the toughest part of the course, no people, in the middle of nowhere, no scenery, just awful!
