ST - My "local" velodrome is about 50 miles south of here. Rode there once. It was a blast! My dream is to build one here in Oakland as part of a cycling-based sports center. I plan to hire you as the motivational coach. I see nothing but winners coming out of this program!!

JD - My Newtons are still in pristine condition, but I bought myself a pair of Vibram Finger Shoes for barefoot running. They are really great. I am very careful with them. Don't run more than 30-45 minutes at a time. They are very good for form and balance. For longer runs I use my regular shoes. But I am still not giving up on my Newtons. They may work better now that I have worked my legs with the finger shoes. What do you think?

Fred - see, here's the thing with track riders. They operate in watt numbers ten times greater and time intervals ten times less than that of a road cyclist. So we may sit around saying we rode for 4 hours at 150W but ST and his mates will yabber on about 1500W for 10 seconds. And then there's Cav. He puts out a lot of watts. But he don't focus on track. Plus he carries on like a pork chop whereas track riders are kinda cool. To summarise ST can prolly put out 1500W while he's crowning on the can.

The other glider at the beginning of the video is C8. I owned a portion of both C8 and Glider 1 at the time of the video shoot. I've since swapped my C8 share for athesecond Glider 1 share. Essentially, I now own Glider 1 outright, and my friend (you see him briefly at the C8 cockpit) now owns C8 outright. She's mine now, ALL MINE! BWAAHAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I uploaded a little video to Youtube last night. It features some soaring I did early last Sring in Invermere, BC. It looks best in HD resolution. The video camera was handheld so it's a little shaky at times, but the video editing software managed to smooth ~most~ of it. For the ridge running along the rock faces, I held the camera so it looked out the side, while I looked forward and avoided the mountains. You can see the camera angles bank along with the glider. Only nine hours left in this year. Except for those on the west side of the line who are already well into 2012. We are hanging out here in North County. Got ol' R3 out for a ride along the coast up to Camp Pendleton this morning. Thank goodness he was kind enough not to run a couple of old farts into the ground. But we have not seen his lovely wife Janelle yet. No sightings of KP, Corn, SQRN, IMan, rap, JC or any other folks west of I-5. Tomorrow I think we head to Las Vagas for some more riding and running. After the big party tonight, of course. We now return you to your regular programming.

Been swimming out to some offshore reefs and seen red moki, gernard, leatherjacket and kina. Took the guns out today but the onshore only left 2m of visibality but we had 10 yesterday.
